Since completing BA Interactive Arts Nicola Siddons has lived and worked in Manchester, exhibiting widely both nationally and internationally. The intense beauty she has found within Japanese flower arranging has allowed her to explore a childhood love of nature and the more hidden aspects of life.

Our universe fascinates me, and I have avidly studied humanity's endeavours to come to terms with our place in reality through a long held interest in religion, magic and philosophy. I like to use these themes as a springboard into the realm of myth and dreams. I have found the edges of our world- death, taboo, sexuality and the unconscious, offer me a doorway into something profoundly creative.

Solo Exhibitions:

Siddons exhibited the completed series 'Domestic Bliss' at Manchester Metropolitan's Alsager Art Gallery. Previous to this she showed 'Cleanliness and Purity' at Victoria Baths, installing the work in the old victorian pool and changing rooms-a perfect place for images about hygiene! Earlier in her career she was involved with Japan 2001 and had her first solo show, 'Clothing the Identity' at the Hanover Galleries in Liverpool.

Group Exhibitions:

Siddons was recently asked to show work from the 'Economies of Living' series in Art Review and Art Monthly by [deletia]. This work was also selected for the 'Ritual Bodies' exhibition at The Walker Art Gallery for Liverpool's Biennial as well as at Glasgow's Centre for Contemporary Art, Toronto Arts (Canada) and the Whittingham Riddell Shrewsbury Art Exhibition. She has been involved with numerous projects in Manchester for Comme Ca, Another Product, twoeightone and various studios and artists' groups.
