Helen Plaumer's work is inspired by observations of detail in everyday life. She works with textiles, stitch, paint and wire. Mostly figurative, occasionally text driven, the work conveys a personal viewpoint of the world. Plaumer hopes to convey a sense of distraction within her work, in that the main part of the whole picture is not always the most interesting to her, and it is often something that may appear to be trivial that captures her attention.
